Ireland Homestay

We have a spacious 6 bedroom modern home in Co Cavan, on the bus route to Dublin/Navan/Cavan near Virginia.

We have 3 children, 16, 5 and 6 months - all in their own rooms. We have a 7 seater car for transport.

As a family we enjoy trips to the forest, days at the beach and shopping trips to Dublin, Belfast, Galway and Cork. We enjoy cinema, bowling, and cooking at home. Day trips to Dublin zoo, theatre, shopping, sights etc all possible.

We have several rooms available at different times - an en-suite double room, a regular twin room available for students, and an over night pull out bed in case our homestay guests decde to have a guest themselves. All very comfortable and warm :) We welcome any parental inspections before a Homestay, or if parents wish to arrive with children for a day or so to settle them in, we can also facilitate this.

Our house is on an acre of land, with established vegetable gardens and lawns. Our house has a fully equiped gym which you can use first thing in morning or evenings before 8pm.

There is wireless internet included in the price, access to the TV den and a study area wth desks, sofa and floor mats for relaxing. Each room has a TV & DVD player if you want privacy.

Locally there is sailing, rowing boats, swimming in the lake, fishing and outdoor camping. As a family we enjoy BBQs and home grown foods.

Our children speak English and Russian, and of course some Irish too. Jon is native Irish, Irina is native Russian from Moscow.

We offer half board and full board stays. Included in our price is a promise to help visitors with their English or Russian language if they wish, and a promise to expose them to the very best of Irish culture and heritage as a welcomed temporary member of our family. We also offer professional Russian and English (TEFL) teaching courses for Homestay Guests - We will assist you in designing a Homestay Leisure & Language Trip to a reasonable budget.

If guests have religious beliefs we can help arrange attendance to nearest Mosque or Synagogue or Church. All religious, cultural and personal beliefs will be respected as best as possible during your stay.

Our home is 'Disabled Friendly' with ramps, widened doors for wheelchairs, walk in showers, and guest bedrooms can be on ground floor. We offer FREE boarding for Carers when Disabled children are booking. (GP, Pharmacy also facilitated).

We are more than happy to arrange airport pick up at a small price. There are no hidden charges for food, laundry, language assistance, horse riding. If we participate in a day trip, and there are costs involved (entrance fees, purchase of gifts etc) we ask that you cover them yourself. Total Homestay cost will be negotiated in advance.

There will be hot and cold drinks on demand in the kitchen at all times, as well as bread, snacks, fruit and cereals.
